Digital Tools for CCSS Reading for Information - August 26th      7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This live 1 hour webinar will highlight classroom activities for reading for information as part of the common core standards. Specific classroom activities will be shared and paired with suggested digital tools. As each tool is introduced, a demo will be provided and participants will be encouraged to experiment with the tool through guided activities.

As a follow-up to this webinar, participants are invited to register for a face-to-face session which will include a hands on experience for attendees and will walk users through a step-by-step process to setting up and using each tool.

Collaborating and Presenting Digitally: Storytelling/Web 2.0 (using Prezi) - October 10th       4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

"The CCSS ask students to gather relevant information from multiple authoritative print and digital sources, using advanced searches effectively; assess the strengths and limitations of each source in terms of the specific task, purpose, and audience; integrate information into the text selectively to maintain the flow of ideas, avoiding plagiarism and over reliance on any one source and following a standard format for citation." Learn how to engage students and facilitate collaboration! Participants will get hands on experience using the free tool Prezi. No experience is required.

Production, Copyright and the Common Core - Nov. 15      3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Common Core Writing Standards encourage students to use print and digital resources in their work.  How can teachers model and support student use of these resources in their teaching and learning while respecting copyright and practicing “fair use”. Learn where that line is and how not to cross it.  We will share resources that will help you to fully understand what “fair use” is for teachers and for students.
